RICHMOND, Texas — Records are rarely the goal when a player first steps onto the field. But for Richmond Randle senior running back Landen Williams-Callis, they are quickly becoming part of the conversation.

After three remarkable seasons, Williams-Callis enters 2026 as one of the most productive running backs in Texas high school football—and with an opportunity to leave his name among the state’s all-time greats.

The numbers speak for themselves.

As a freshman in 2023, Williams-Callis immediately established himself as one of the state’s top young backs, earning Texas District 10-5A D-II Overall MVP honors. He rushed for 1,946 yards and 23 touchdowns while averaging 9.34 yards per carry. He also contributed 173 receiving yards and four touchdowns on 10 receptions.

His sophomore campaign only raised the expectations.

In 2024, Williams-Callis rushed for 2,103 yards and 43 touchdowns, averaging 9.14 yards per carry. He added 289 receiving yards and two touchdowns through the air before delivering on the biggest stage. In the Texas 5A D-II state championship game, he earned Offensive MVP honors after carrying the ball 23 times for 101 yards and a touchdown.

Then came a junior season that pushed his production to another level.

Over 16 games in 2025, Williams-Callis exploded for 3,502 rushing yards and 59 touchdowns, averaging an astonishing 10.8 yards per carry. His 218.9 rushing yards per game helped Richmond Randle make a deep postseason run, ultimately finishing as the Texas 5A D-II state runner-up.

But his impact wasn’t limited to the running game. Williams-Callis caught 24 passes for 266 yards and a touchdown, completed three of five passes for 47 yards and another touchdown, and even recorded a kick-return touchdown.

Now, heading into his senior season, Williams-Callis has a chance to turn an extraordinary high school career into a historic one.

He enters 2026 just 3,828 rushing yards away from the Texas high school football career rushing record held by Kaegan Ash. He is even closer to another significant milestone, needing just 692 yards to break the Houston-area career rushing record established by his cousin, Jacquizz Rodgers.

For Williams-Callis, the challenge isn’t simply about chasing numbers. It’s about finishing what has already been one of the most productive high school careers in Texas.
